Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment Partners with Kambi for Ontario Market

The Canadian industry, particularly Ontario’s newly created iGaming sector, is ripe with opportunity. More gaming companies are aiming to enter the sector, as predicted. This week, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) announced its entry into Ontario’s nascent iGaming and sports wagering business. The name of the betting and gaming brand that will go live in the Canadian province is Fallsview Casino Resort.

To facilitate this new endeavor, MGE has secured an agreement with Kambi Group plc to deliver its industry-leading online mobile sportsbook to the operator’s brand in Ontario. As per the terms of the partnership agreement, MGE will use Kambi’s award-winning technology and mobile sports betting offering for its PlayFallsview online mobile sportsbook. This means that players can expect, among other things, an unrivaled ice hockey product and extensive Bet Builder tools.

A First for MGE

With this new venture, Mohegan will be providing an iGaming product for the first time outside of the United States. In Connecticut, however, the gaming business already has some presence in the iGaming sector. That experience will almost certainly find good use in Ontario.

This long-term partnership significantly bolsters Kambi’s position in North America. It is already accessible in 17 US states. It also received a license for operation in Ontario on the first day of the regulated market’s operation. This gives it a unique competitive advantage.

“I look forward to the combination of our industry-leading mobile sportsbook and the prominent Fallsview name as together we bring players in Ontario all the excitement of single and in-game wagering along with the unrivaled bet combinability our sportsbook offers.”

Kristian Nylén, Kambi Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder.

This agreement will provide Ontarians with all the delights of single-event and in-game betting, as well as the sportsbook’s unmatched bet combinability.

More On Ontario’s Gaming Market

Ontario’s new and regulated market is overseen by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. The regulator has not been shy in demonstrating that it is tightly monitoring the sector. All registered operators are held to rigorous standards of responsible gambling, player protection, and game integrity, and the regulator strives to ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities.

Ontario’s experience with legalization might be useful to other Canadian jurisdictions looking to bring gambling into the border. As more of these provincial governments consider legalizing activities on a big scale, it will be intriguing to see how these lessons apply in the future. For now, we can watch how everything works out for current operators.
