Sky, which owned 20 percent of Sky Betting &amp; Gaming will receive <strong>\u00a3145 million<\/strong> for its remaining stake in the company. However, the biggest winner is CVC, a private equity firm that in 2015 bought a majority stake in Sky Betting &amp; Gaming from Sky for \u00a3800 million.<strong> CVC is set to rake in \u00a32 billion in profit from the sale.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Saturday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.starsgroup.com\/press-center\/the-stars-group-news\/the-stars-group-to-acquire-sky-betting-and-gaming-for-4-7-billion-\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a> where the announced was officially made, the Stars Group also mentioned that they expect the deal to be finalized by the third quarter of 2018. Sky Betting &amp; Gaming has been growing rapidly in the local online casino game and sports scenes which makes it a lucrative buy for the Stars Group. With the United Supreme Court <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2018\/04\/01\/news\/sports-betting-supreme-court-new-jersey\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">landmark ruling on sports betting<\/a> just around the corner, the company is going to be fully prepared supposing the ban on sports betting is lifted.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe acquisition of Sky Betting &amp; Gaming is a landmark moment in The Stars Group\u2019s history,\u201d added Rafi Ashkenazi, the Stars Group Inc. Chief Executive Officer. \u201cSBG operates one of the world\u2019s fastest growing sportsbooks and is one of the United Kingdom\u2019s leading gaming providers. The ability to offer two low-cost acquisition channels of this magnitude provides The Stars Group with great growth potential and will significantly increase our ability to create winning moments for our customers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to all the perks that the acquisition will come with, the Stars Group is set to gain more exposure to the United Kingdom\u2019s regulated online gaming market which is the <strong>largest in the world<\/strong>.
