When talking about casino games, most people have in mind table games, especially roulette. The online roulette wheel for money is something that many casino players love and play.

That’s why we wanted to talk about roulette wheels, tables, and the best online roulette game types, so you’ll know what you’ll get if you decide to start playing online roulette.

There’s a lot to talk about here, so let’s begin with the game types.

Online Roulette Game Types

Although the offer of roulette games in online casinos around the globe is abundant, there are only three best online roulette game types that you need to know about.

More importantly, you should know that roulette is, in its core, always the same. The three roulette types, as well as all other roulette types, are effectively the same, with only a few differences.

European Roulette

European Roulette (real money) is the most popular type of roulette in the world. It’s usually considered the best type of roulette, as its house edge is significantly smaller than in American Roulette.

This is true because of the main difference between the two that can be found on the casino roulette wheel. European Roulette has only a single zero pocket, while American Roulette has both single and two zero pockets. This effectively doubles the house edge — it’s 2.7% in European Roulette and 5.26% in American Roulette.

The rest of the rules are pretty much the same. The wheel is the same, except for the difference in the number of zero pockets. The table has almost the same bets, and all of them are fairly straightforward.

All in all, if you decide to play European Roulette online, you’ll be glad to know that you’ll have the most chances of winning here.

American Roulette

In essence, American Roulette is a unique type of roulette. This stems from the double zero pocket we previously discussed, as it changes your chances of winning and slightly alters the bets you can place.

The risk is somewhat higher, but the bets are still simple, just as they are in European Roulette. You can develop a roulette wheel strategy of your own, but bear in mind that this is still a game of chance and not skill. However, by combining bets, you will have better chances to win.

So, when you’re ready, all you need to do is choose your favorite online casino, deposit money, and play American roulette online.

French Roulette

Among the three main roulette types, French Roulette is, by far, the most unique one. First of all, the wheel is the same as the one in European Roulette, which means there is a single zero on it. However, the table is very different.

The table in French Roulette has different bets which players tend to call French bets. You should bet on two numbers instead of one, a row of three numbers, place a line or a corner bet, and much more.

So, if you decide to play French Roulette online, you should definitely learn what these bets are because they have French names!

American Roulette vs European Roulette

The main differences between these two types of roulette can be seen on the wheel, in the rules, and on the table, but you should know that the differences are still small.

In essence, the wheel is similar; however, the European Roulette wheel has a green single zero pocket, while the American Roulette wheel has both single zero and double zero pocket. This doubles the house edge in American Roulette, which means that you have slightly lower chances of winning with this type of roulette. Thus, the average payout is 94.74% in American Roulette, while it’s 97.30% in the European Roulette.

The rest of the pockets are the same, which means that the total number of pockets on the European Roulette wheel is 37, while it’s 38 on the American Roulette wheel.

However, an online roulette wheel for money is not the only element of online roulette games. There is also the table that is almost the same, except for the additional double zero field on the American Roulette table.

As for the rules, there are some noticeable differences. In European Roulette, the “En Prison” rule allows you to get another spin if the ball lands on the single zero pocket and you placed an even money bet. Additionally, if you play live roulette, you can announce a call bet to the dealer without placing it on the table.

In American Roulette, you can place a five-number bet that’s always placed on the numbers 1, 2, 3, 0, and 00. This bet is risky, while the payout is 6:1.

Types of Roulette Wheels

When it comes to the roulette wheel layout, there are differences among different roulette types.

We’ve explained the differences that can be seen on the full-size roulette wheel, but there are still the things we haven’t discussed.

American Roulette Wheel

We’ve already talked about the double zero roulette wheel or the 00 roulette wheel. Whichever name you prefer, the wheel is still the same. It has 38 pockets, 36 of which are numbers ranging from 1 to 36 (half of them are black, and another half are red), while the remaining two are single zero and double zero pockets.

Colors alternate on every roulette wheel, but the arrangement of numbers is the same. All even numbers are arranged to be on one side of the zero pocket, while the odd numbers are on the opposite side. All of this makes the American roulette wheel layout quite different from other roulette wheels.

European Roulette Wheel

In the European roulette wheel layout, there are 37 pockets, all of which are the same as in the American Roulette, except for the fact that there is no double zero pocket.

However, even though this is the only noticeable difference, the number arrangement is completely altered. They are arranged in a way for you to be able to cover specific types of bets that group together several numbers.

French Roulette Wheel

The French Roulette Wheel is pretty much the same as the European Roulette wheel because both have bets that require a specific combination of numbers. Also, the number of pockets is the same, as French Roulette also has a single zero pocket, without the additional double zero pocket found in the Vegas roulette wheel of American Roulette.

Roulette Table Layouts

As was the case with the wheels, we also discussed some of the main differences in table layout among different roulette types. However, there is more to discuss.

American Roulette Table

The American Roulette Table has a 3×12 grid with all the numbers (1–36) in alternating colors. They are arranged to begin with 1 and end with 36. The single and double zero fields are placed next to the first three numbers.

The grid is then expanded to have empty spots for the bets you can place. These are arranged logically, so as to be close to the numbers they group.

European Roulette Table

The European Roulette table is almost the same as the one in the American Roulette. The arrangement is pretty much the same, only without the double zero field. However, there are also some noticeable differences, but they are more of an aesthetic nature.

French Roulette Table

You don’t have to learn how to play the roulette wheel in French Roulette, but you do have to learn the table. That’s because the table is quite different from the ones found in the other two types of roulette.

The number layout is the same, and there is only a single zero field. However, the rest of the fields are quite different because the bets in French Roulette are different as well. So, you’ll have to learn the bets themselves and their French names if you’re going to play the game.

The French and European Roulette have 36 numbers from 1 to 36 and a single zero, while the American Roulette has the same numbers, plus the double zero.

How to play “Russian Roulette”?

Playing roulette is very easy, as all it takes is following the wheel and placing bets on the table in accordance with what you believe will happen on the wheel.

No, it definitely is not. Real roulette is impossible to rig without anyone noticing, while online roulette cannot be rigged as long as the casino is legitimate.

How do you beat roulette?

You beat it by winning many bets, but each thing that happens is still random, so there is no way to beat it without luck.
